11% increase in Irish distillery visits

According to the Irish Times 814,000 people visited Irish distilleries last year, a rise of 11%.

This is great news for the industry and it shows that the popularity of Irish whiskey is continuing to grow. Hopefully, well more like probably, this trend will continue in 2018.

Compared to 733,000 in 2016, the rise is quite significant and, with new whiskey visitor centres expected to open this year, the only way is up!

Kudos to the Irish Times for highlighting this rise – and long may they continue to promote Irish whiskey. Click here to open up Peter Hamilton’s report on this welcome increase.

Sláinte,
